It feels like this quilt took me forever! Hand sewing the binding to the back is really a bitch. Not my thing at all. But there's no getting around how much nicer it looks than machine sewn binding. Maybe I just need to practice my machine binding techniques...?
It is made up of fabrics primarily from Riley Blake's Be Merry line.
The red and white striped fabric I used for the binding is by Michael Miller...I love the candy cane effect it offers.
This is the first time I've quilted with these wavy lines and these pics are pre-washing so it may look quilte different later on.
I wish you all a happy, healthy, fun, safe new year!
Wowee! This is absolutely stunning. I love the wavy-line quilting against these pretty holiday fabrics, and the colors are gorgeous. Bravo!

I love this quilt so much. I saw it on Flickr too. Can you give me a little size info on your quilt? The overall size and the size of the blocks? I've been looking for a good pattern/layout for these fabrics and I love what you did with them. I would like to make one very similar...great inspiration.
Thank you!!

Thanks, Diane and Krystyn! I'm so pleased that you like this quilt.
Okay, Krystyn. The quilt is 67"x 54". I didn't follow any pattern, but I'd call it throw size. I cut the blocks using a 12" quilter's square. The sashing was cut at 3 and a half inches, the same size I cut fabric for binding usually. The long side border pieces are different on the sides than the top and bottom but I'd say generally cut them 2 inches wide. The best way to cut the border pieces is to stitch together strips of fabric say then cut them into vertical strips so your small pieces are already stitched. Am I explaining this right?
Here is a tutorial from Red Pepper Quilts that shows what I'm talking about.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to ask any questions, any time!
