So, of course, it was my threading error on the serger yesterday. I was finally able to finish the pj's and I'll try and show you them tomorrow. I still think it would be awe-to-the-some to have that OTHER serger, though. Just so I don't have to thread it. How lazy is that?
And to Jaime's comment...Yes, I am crazy, girl! Join me?
And to Emily...I really don't have room for a long arm right now. Don't you see all the other gear I am stockpiling! Some day, though, some day.
In the meantime, Shaina's blocks for the Bee Mod bee.
So many things are frustrating me these days. Yesterday it was my serger, which for some reason keeps screwing up no matter how many times I re-thread it. Surely it's my error, but I cant seem to pinpoint it. I HATE threading the serger. Therefore I have a pair of pajamas for Beckett all finished...except for one leg cuff. Could I finish it on my sewing machine? Sure. Do I want to? NO. That's what I bought a serger for! I do wonder if having this one would really be better...
It threads itself with the push of a button for goodness sake! How could that not be better? Well, seeing as I just bought this, I think I would have too much 'splaining' to do to "Ricky." Unless... I sell my Designer SE. Hmm. That could work. Anyone interested?
Just one for Alissa. She has enough bee experience to know that if you ask for more you'll be able to make another whole quilt out of them and you may not want to. Then who's blocks do you leave out? See what I'm saying? Alissa is smart.
BTW if you don't know already, her name is pronounced A-leesa. not Alyssa. Got it? Alissa is an amazing woman. She casts Project Runway (yup, for reals!), she is VP of the LA Modern Quilt Guild and one of the two founders of the Modern Quilt Guild along with Latifah. I am constantly inspired and impressed by her. She's only been quilting a couple of years and she's THAT good! She also teaches quilting classes here in LA, has a highly regarded and visited blog and somehow she is ALWAYS chill. I don't know how she does it.
I had a charm pack of this sweet Oz fabric by Moda. Individually, the fabrics really didn't blow me away...but I am really loving the way they look together.
I sashed it with Kona Snow and the back is Snow, Peridot, and Coral.
The binding is a Shot Cotton and I'm really not sure what the color is though it may be "Nut." It has hints of both coral and the green in it though, so it was perfect.
And now a shout out to everyone who has taken the time to fill out my survey. You have really helped me out and I am so grateful! Your answers were so thoughtful and honest and I am so lucky to have you to turn to. I will keep you all posted on any forward movement!
