Have you missed me? I have been in a holding pattern waiting for the final lease deal to go down. I WILL be opening my shop, probably in mid January. Yay!! I hope you will take this journey with me as I get the store together. I will share photos with you soon. And yes, the name is SEW MODERN! Someone suggested it on the survey I put out and I love it.
There has been sewing going on, but not much is getting finished.
I've been working on this blouse which was so simple until I got to the neckline. I cannot seem to attach in a graceful way. It is a simple tube of fabric, twisted a few times. It needs to be handsewn on and I guess that's why I keep messing it up-soooo not my forte.
I am also joining in with Rachel's Colorbrick Quilt-a-Long. Mostly because I have been admiring the one she made for a long time and I want one just like it. So I'm pretty much copying her (I did ask her first!) This is what I've got so far:
And then there's this stripey quilt I'm making based on a guys shirt I took a picture of in a restaurant once. Not too far along on this as you can see. Hopefully I'll be able to post a finish next week.
Happy Sunday!

Congrats Lauren! I can't wait to see it. I am totally jealous of all the sewing you have been doing. I have not done any sewing in over 2 weeks. Off to my sewing room to remedy that!

Can't wait for SEW MODERN! whoo hoo. And, I LOVE that shirt. What pattern is it? Speaking of copying, I think I may have to copy that :) xo.

Hey Jamie, the pattern is Cynthia Rowley for Simplicity #2593. PLEASE help me figure out how to attach the darned neckline gracefully!

Lauren, I can't believe I just finally found your blog and added it to my Google Reader (boy, I love lazy Sunday mornings!) I feel just like I am listening to you at a meeting, and you are cracking me up - great writing! And where did you get that little grid wall that all your tools are hooked onto? I love/want it/need it!

Hey, Alison, you made my day! The grid is from the container store.
